It’s Saturday morning and I’m smiling like a lunatic.
Because of the past few months, I’ve been building something that—I hope—you’ll love.
We’re turning Tape Wars into a free online game.
Each song is a digital card with it’s own “superpowers” and rankings based on everything from chart performance, emotional punch, danceability to how much of an “underrated gem” it is.
You pick the songs and mixtapes to battle each other.
You’ll be able to play versus the computer or even a friend in real-time—just roll virtual dice as your mixtape battles theirs.
I mean, it’s better than doom scrolling, right?
This will either be a big hit for us 80s music fans or an absolute disaster… but I’m putting a ton of resources into it because Gen X don’t play small.
We come in hot and never let off the gas—even in our 50s, 60s and beyond.
❤️ HELP BUILD THE GAME!
Do you want to help shape Tape Wars.. The Game? Add your two (or three) cents.
What songs/bands do YOU want to see in the first BETA version of Tape Wars (the online game)?
It doesn’t have a be a smash hit or a massive band/artist.
It might be a song you love that never hit the Top 40. Or a band that’s criminally overlooked from the 80s.
Be a part of the game by sharing your choices on any of these…
I’m pushing to have the BETA version open this Wednesday so you can get in, kick the tires and give feedback (did I mention there’s ZERO cost to play?)… so stick around because only people on this list can be a BETA player.
Hold on tight, because we’re hopping back in the time machine. Destination 1980s.
Can you dig it?
Let’s Play,
Ryan
P.S. Here’s a “sneak peak” at a rough printed version of the song cards.
P.P.S. Help build the game and share your favorite songs/bands to be included in Tape Wars today.. on any of these platforms…
